Our Curriculum

Fortis Academy's™ purpose is to build connection, confidence, professionalism, leadership skills, and problem-solving skills so that diverse high school learners are cultivated into the next generation of leaders and innovators. We seek to develop students who have the education, exposure, and tools to be resilient and adaptable, and who are invigorated by challenges. While we are open to educating students from all backgrounds, we are driven to impact the impressionable African American population in Georgia, USA.

Curriculum Pillars

Design + Innovation

At the core of our programming is a deep understanding and love for Design Thinking. Our curriculum is built on a foundation that teaches students how to think critically and solve any problem through a tried-and-true process that leads to incredible innovations.

Tailored Approach

We seek to minimize the gap in access to resources, mentorship, tech training, and leadership development by providing tailored and relevant instruction to marginalized high-school youth in Georgia.

Hands-On

Learning

We strongly believe that students learn by doing. Through our summer Institute or our curriculum in a classroom during the school year, students will experience hands-on workshops in coding, 3D printing, design, networking and more.

Coding

Students will gain marketable hard skills and give them a head start in computer programming. Students will finish our program with confidence in programming languages and the ability to utilize it to solve problems.

Professional Development

Students will become proficient in marketing their newfound skills to potential employers. From working on your resume to interview and negotiation training, students will be adept in finding and securing critical opportunities for the success of their future.

Leadership

Our students gain strong soft skills and the self-awareness to problem solve and manage others, whether they lead from in front or behind. Students will have the opportunity to get hands-on training through teamwork and mentorship.
